Alexandra (Alex) Gibbins is an experienced pharmacist prescriber and Medication Safety Pharmacist at Lotus Weight Loss Clinic. With over 35 years of clinical experience spanning NHS 111, community pharmacy, and primary care, Alex brings a deep understanding of medicines optimisation and patient safety to her role.
Throughout her career, Alex has advised thousands of patients on safe and effective medication use, including weight loss treatments. Her time in community pharmacy gave her valuable insight into the challenges people face when trying to manage their weight, and she’s passionate about supporting informed, realistic, and sustainable health decisions.
Alex has a particular interest in GLP-1 medications, not only for their clinical efficacy in weight loss, but also for their wider benefits in areas such as cardiovascular risk reduction and improvements in mental well-being. Her work at Lotus focuses on ensuring every prescribing decision is rooted in best practice, with the patient’s safety, lifestyle, and long-term outcomes at the heart of every plan.
Outside the clinic, Alex enjoys walking her dogs, staying active, and leading a healthy lifestyle that reflects her professional values. She is committed to helping patients feel confident, safe, and supported on their weight loss journey.
