Your health is our priority, and we’re committed to providing safe, trustworthy care every step of the way.

Our online consultation form is carefully designed to:

  • Assess your eligibility and safety for each treatment.
  • Prevent you from purchasing medications that aren’t right for you.

Prefer to speak to someone first?

We would love to hear from you. Give us a quick call, use our contact form or message us on the live chat. Head to our Contact Us page for more details.

Our goal is to ensure you feel fully supported and confident before you start your treatment.

No, we don’t offer a subscription service — and that’s a conscious decision. We believe that when it comes to prescription medications, especially for weight loss, you shouldn’t be tied into a subscription. Your health and journey can change, and we want you to stay in control.

Our patients have told us they prefer a flexible, non-subscription model where they can decide when to order. That’s why we send you a handy email reminder a few days before your next order is due. The reordering process is quick and simple — no need to fill out a new form each month. Just click the reorder button and you’re good to go.

That said, we’re working on an automatic reordering option for those who are on a stable dose and settled on their medication — stay tuned!

Switching to Lotus Weight Loss Clinic is quick and easy. Simply start a consultation and our form is designed to guide you through the process step by step.

If you are not starting at the lowest dose of Mounjaro or Wegovy, you will need to upload evidence of a previous prescription or supply from your current provider to ensure continuity of care and appropriate dosing.

Once your consultation is reviewed and approved by our clinicians, you can enjoy our hassle-free service, including fast re-ordering, free next-day delivery and ongoing clinical support.

Yes, at Lotus Weight Loss Clinic, your privacy is our top priority. All your personal information, medical data, and order history are kept completely confidential and are only accessible to our qualified staff and clinicians.

We comply with strict UK data protection laws (GDPR) and are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to ensure your data is handled securely. We never share your information with third parties without your consent.

For more details, please review our Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about confidentiality, feel free to contact our support team.

At Lotus Weight Loss Clinic, we recommend informing your GP about any new medications you take to ensure they have a complete picture of your health.

When placing an order, you’ll have the option to provide your GP’s details. For certain high-risk medications, such as weight loss injections (e.g., Mounjaro and Wegovy), providing your GP’s information is mandatory. If you choose to share your GP details, we will send your GP a letter to notify them of the treatment prescribed to support your overall healthcare management.

If you decide not to share your GP details for medications where it’s optional (e.g. Orlistat), we still encourage you to update them about your treatment to ensure continuity of care.

For more information, please contact our support team.

Medical Support and Safety

which provides guidance on managing common side effects. If you need further advice, contact our clinical team, your NHS GP, or a local pharmacist.

  • Severe side effects (e.g. moderate or severe nausea with vomiting and/or diarrhoea, severe abdominal pain, reduced urine output and/or fluid build up, sudden fast heart rate or vision changes, lumps in your neck or a hoarse voice or other severe side symptoms that are concerning you)

Call your
NHS GP or NHS 111 for urgent medical assistance.

  • Emergency situations (e.g. severe allergic responses with difficulty breathing)

Dial

For urgent care advice see our Urgent Care Services page.

Yes, at Lotus Weight Loss Clinic, we actively monitor your progress to ensure you are achieving safe and effective results with your treatment.

We review your weight loss progress, medical history, and medications every month when you place your order. Additionally, we conduct detailed clinical reviews every six months to assess your overall health and treatment effectiveness.

From time to time, we will also email you to check in on your progress and offer support. We encourage you to reach out to us at any time if you have any questions or concerns about your treatment.

Weight loss results can vary from person to person, and it’s important to stay patient and consistent with your treatment plan. If you don’t see the expected results, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Give it time: GLP-1 medications such as Wegovy and Mounjaro work gradually. It may take a few weeks to notice significant changes in appetite and weight loss.
  2. Review your lifestyle habits: Ensure you’re following a balanced, calorie-controlled diet and incorporating regular physical activity to support your medication.
  3. Regular monthly reviews: Each time you place an order, our team reviews your progress and can offer personalised advice or adjustments to your treatment plan if needed.
  4. Six-month clinical review: If after six months your weight loss progress is not as expected, our healthcare professionals will conduct a detailed review to assess whether changes to your treatment, lifestyle, or medical history are necessary.

Reach out for support:
If you have concerns about your progress, you can contact our clinical team at any time for guidance and support.

Yes, you can stop your medication at any time; however, we recommend doing so under medical guidance to ensure it’s the right decision for your health and weight loss goals.

Before discontinuing your treatment, consider the following:

  1. Consult with our clinical team: Stopping your medication abruptly may affect your progress. Our team can provide guidance on tapering off safely and discuss alternative options if needed.

  2. Potential weight regain: Weight loss medications work alongside lifestyle changes. Stopping treatment without a sustainable plan may lead to weight regain.

  3. Side effects management: If you’re considering stopping due to side effects, adjustments to your dosage or treatment plan may help. Reach out to us for support.

Possible Side Effects

Side effects with weight loss medications are common, especially when you first start a medication or increase the dose. The good news is that for most people they are normally mild and only last for a short while, then normally settle down and disappear altogether.  Healthy eating and taking your doses at the same time each week can help with side effects. There’s also the option to stay on a lower dose until they get better.

If you experience side effects, follow these steps:

  • Mild side effects (e.g. mild nausea, with or without vomiting, constipation, headaches, diarrhoea, heartburn or injection site reactions)

First, scroll down this page and read the answers for the specific side effects you’re experiencing
. If you need further advice, contact our clinical team, your NHS GP, or a local pharmacist.

Diarrhoea is a very common side effect of GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy, affecting more than 1 in 10 people—especially during the initial weeks of treatment. Most cases tend to be mild and resolve on their own, but staying hydrated and taking simple steps can help you recover more quickly.

  1. Stay Hydrated
  • Drink plenty of fluids: Water, squash, and oral rehydration solutions (e.g., Dioralyte) are excellent choices.
  • Avoid sugary or caffeinated drinks: If you have diabetes or are prone to dehydration, these can aggravate your symptoms.
  1. Rest and Recover
  • Take it easy: Allow your body time to recuperate. Overexertion can worsen diarrhoea symptoms.
  1. Manage Your Diet
  • Eat small, frequent meals: Consider bland, easy-to-digest options at first (e.g., plain rice, bananas, toast).
  • Introduce foods slowly: Once symptoms improve, gradually reintroduce a balanced diet to avoid upsetting your stomach again.
  • Avoid spicy or greasy foods: These can exacerbate diarrhoea.
  1. Consider Over-the-Counter Remedies
  • Oral rehydration salts: These replenish lost fluids and electrolytes. Ask your local pharmacist for guidance.
  • Loperamide: This medication can help reduce diarrhoea but should not be taken for more than 48 hours without medical advice.
  • Pain relievers: Simple analgesics like paracetamol can help relieve discomfort.
  • Visit the NHS website for additional guidance on managing diarrhoea.

When to Seek Help

  • Persistent Diarrhoea: If it lasts more than 48 hours or you cannot keep fluids down, contact your NHS GP, NHS 111, or our clinical team at Lotus Weight Loss.
  • Signs of Dehydration or Bloody Stools: If you notice blood in your stools or any bleeding from your bottom, or if you feel drowsy or extremely weak, seek urgent medical advice.
  • Severe Symptoms: If you experience persistent vomiting, extreme fatigue, or any other severe side effects, call NHS 111 or consult your doctor immediately.

Remember, managing diarrhoea effectively helps you stay on track with your weight loss goals. If you have any concerns, please reach out to our Lotus Weight Loss clinical team for professional advice. We’re here to ensure you feel confident and supported throughout your journey.

Nausea and vomiting are common side effects of GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy. Around 1 in 10 users experience these issues, especially when increasing doses. Although uncomfortable, they often improve over time as your body adjusts. Below are some practical steps to help manage nausea and vomiting while staying on track with your weight loss journey.

  1. Stay Hydrated
  • Drink plenty of clear fluids: Aim to sip water, herbal teas, or electrolyte drinks frequently.
  • Avoid sugary or caffeinated beverages: This is especially important if you have diabetes or are prone to dehydration.
  1. Eat Small, Frequent Meals
  • Try lighter portions: Eating smaller meals more frequently can ease stress on your stomach.
  • Choose bland or plain foods: Plain rice, crackers, or toast can be easier to tolerate if you’re feeling queasy.
  1. Calm Your Stomach
  • Try herbal teas: Ginger, peppermint, and fennel teas are known to help soothe nausea.
  • Opt for fresh air: Stepping outside for a short walk or simply opening a window can help relieve nausea.
  • Avoid strong smells: Cooking odors or heavily scented foods can make nausea worse.
  1. Use Over-the-Counter Remedies
  • Antacids: If heartburn or acid reflux accompanies your nausea, an OTC antacid can help. Speak with your local pharmacist for advice.
  • Anti-sickness medications: Options like Cyclizine may alleviate severe nausea and vomiting. These can be purchased from our Lotus Weight Loss website (please contact us using the form on the ‘Contact us’ page if you feel you may need Cyclizine) or recommended by your pharmacist or doctor.
  1. Monitor for Dehydration
  • Watch for dark urine or dizziness: These can be signs of dehydration. If you notice any symptoms of dehydration and can’t keep fluids down, call NHS 111 or contact your GP.

Visit the NHS website for additional guidance on managing Nausea.

When to Seek Help

  • Frequent Vomiting: Vomiting more than three times a day may mean that Mounjaro or Wegovy aren’t suitable for you. Please monitor your symptoms and speak to our clinical team or your NHS GP.
  • Persistent or Severe Nausea/Vomiting: If symptoms do not improve with the above measures, or you experience intense abdominal pain or other severe side effects, contact NHS 111 or your GP for further advice.
  • Signs of Dehydration: Inability to keep fluids down, dark urine, feeling light-headed or passing less urine than usual are indicators you should seek help right away.

At Lotus Weight Loss, your comfort and safety are paramount. If you’re struggling with nausea, vomiting, or any other side effects, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our clinical team. We’re here to provide tailored support and ensure you feel confident throughout your weight loss journey.

Heartburn (also known as acid reflux or GORD) is a very common side effect of GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy. It often appears alongside nausea. Although it can be uncomfortable, there are several ways to reduce its impact and keep your weight loss journey on track.

  1. Stay Hydrated
  • Drink clear fluids: Sip on water, herbal teas (e.g., ginger, peppermint), or low-sugar beverages to help neutralise stomach acid.
  • Avoid sugary or caffeinated drinks: These can worsen heartburn, especially if you have diabetes or are prone to acid reflux.
  1. Eat Small, Frequent Meals
  • Portion control: Large meals can exacerbate acid reflux. Opt for smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day.
  • Avoid lying down after eating: Wait at least 2–3 hours before bedtime or lying flat to reduce reflux.
  1. Adjust Your Diet
  • Limit triggers: Spicy, greasy, fatty, and highly acidic foods can increase heartburn. Caffeine, alcohol, and sugary foods may also trigger symptoms.
  • Chew thoroughly and eat slowly: This can ease the strain on your digestive system and help prevent reflux.
  1. Simple Lifestyle Changes
  • Elevate your head while sleeping: Use an extra pillow or raise the head of your bed slightly.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothes: Tight clothing around the waist can aggravate heartburn.
  • Avoid smoking (if you smoke): Smoking can worsen reflux and delay healing.
  1. Over-the-Counter Relief
  • Antacids and reflux medications: Gaviscon, omeprazole, or lansoprazole can provide relief. Consult your local pharmacist, GP, or our clinical team at Lotus Weight Loss for specific recommendations.

Visit the NHS website for additional guidance on managing heartburn.

When to Seek Help

  • Persistent or Severe Heartburn: If you’re relying on over-the-counter treatments daily, or if symptoms persist despite lifestyle changes, speak to your NHS GP or our clinical team. You may need a different type of prescription medication or further evaluation.
  • Other Concerns: If heartburn is accompanied by severe abdominal pain, difficulty swallowing, or unexplained weight loss, contact a medical professional promptly.

At Lotus Weight Loss, we’re committed to supporting your well-being throughout your Mounjaro or Wegovy journey. If heartburn—or any other side effect—is impacting your progress, please reach out to our clinical team or seek advice from your NHS GP.

Burping and sulphur burps (which can have a distinct “rotten egg” smell) are sometimes reported by people taking GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro or Wegovy. These symptoms can be linked to indigestion, heartburn, or acid reflux, and are often influenced by dietary habits. Here are some tips to help reduce excessive burping and improve comfort:

  1. Adjust Your Eating Habits
  • Eat slowly and chew thoroughly: Eating too fast can cause you to swallow extra air, which may lead to more frequent burping.
  • Avoid straws and smoking: Both introduce excess air into your stomach.
  • Limit fizzy drinks and alcohol: Carbonated beverages and alcohol can increase gas production.
  1. Choose Foods Wisely
  • Reduce high-fat or greasy meals: These can slow digestion and exacerbate burping.
  • Monitor sugar intake: High-sugar foods can feed gut bacteria that produce extra gas.
  • Keep a food diary: Note any foods that worsen your symptoms, so you can adjust your diet accordingly.
  1. Stay Hydrated & Move More
  • Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated can aid digestion and reduce burping episodes.
  • Gentle exercise: Activities like walking, jogging, or yoga can help release trapped gas and support healthy digestion.
  1. Try Herbal Teas & Over-the-Counter Remedies
  • Peppermint or ginger tea: These can soothe the digestive tract and minimize gas.
  • Indigestion relief: Over-the-counter remedies (e.g., antacids) can help if you’re experiencing reflux or heartburn alongside burping.
  1. Take Mounjaro or Wegovy with Food
  • Pairing your dose with a meal: This may help reduce gastrointestinal side effects, including burping and sulphur burps.

When to Seek Help

  • Frequent or Persistent Symptoms: If burping or sulphur burps continue despite lifestyle changes, speak with your pharmacist, GP, or our clinical team at Lotus Weight Loss. They can assess for underlying issues like reflux and suggest treatments that can be used alongside Mounjaro or Wegovy.
  • Severe Discomfort or Other Symptoms: If you experience severe abdominal pain, persistent nausea, or vomiting, contact a medical professional promptly.

At Lotus Weight Loss, your comfort is our priority. If you have any questions about managing burping, sulphur burps, or any other side effect, please reach out to our clinical team or consult your NHS GP for personalised advice. We’re here to ensure you feel supported every step of the way on your weight loss journey.

Headaches are a very common side effect of GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy, affecting more than 1 in 10 users. They often subside within a few days or weeks as your body adjusts, but they can be uncomfortable in the meantime. Below are some strategies that may help alleviate headache symptoms:

  1. Stay Hydrated
  • Drink plenty of clear fluids: Aim for water, herbal teas, or low-sugar beverages to help maintain proper hydration and possibly reduce headache frequency.
  1. Rest in a Quiet Environment
  • Dimly-lit, peaceful space: Giving yourself a break in a quiet room with soft or minimal lighting can significantly ease headache discomfort.
  1. Use Simple Pain Relievers
  • Over-the-counter painkillers: Medications such as paracetamol can help while your body gets used to Mounjaro or Wegovy. Always follow the recommended dosage.
  1. Practice Relaxation Techniques
  • Meditation and breathing exercises: Focus on deep, slow breaths or try a guided meditation app.
  • DIY scalp or temple massages: Gently massaging your head and temples can provide relief from tension headaches.
  1. Apply Hot or Cold Compresses
  • Neck and forehead: Alternating between warm and cool compresses may help relax tense muscles and reduce headache pain.
  1. Get Adequate Sleep
  • Aim for 7–9 hours per night: Lack of sleep can worsen headaches, so maintaining a consistent sleep schedule can help prevent them.

Visit the NHS website for additional guidance on managing headaches.

When to Seek Help

  • Persistent or Worsening Headaches: If your headaches don’t improve or they become more severe, contact your NHS GP, NHS 111, or our clinical team at Lotus Weight Loss for further advice.
  • Associated Symptoms: If you experience other concerning symptoms—such as severe nausea, dizziness, or blurred vision—seek medical attention promptly.

At Lotus Weight Loss, we’re here to support you through every step of your weight loss journey, including managing side effects. If you have any concerns or questions, please get in touch with our clinical team or consult your NHS GP for personalised guidance.

Injection site reactions—such as redness, itching, bruising, swelling, and pain—can affect up to 1 in 10 users of GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro and Wegovy. These symptoms often improve as your body adjusts to the medication, but here are a few tips to help you manage them:

  1. Consider Antihistamines
  • Non-drowsy antihistamine tablets: Options like cetirizine can help reduce redness and itching.
  • Local antihistamine/ weak steroid cream: Applying cream directly to the affected area can provide quick relief. Your local pharmacist can recommend suitable products.
  1. Rotate Injection Sites
  • Vary your injection spots: Using a different site each time (e.g., abdomen, thigh) can help prevent repeated irritation in the same area.
  1. Practice Gentle Care
  • Avoid rubbing or scratching: This can worsen redness or swelling.
  • Use cool compresses: Placing a cool cloth over the affected area may soothe discomfort.

When to Seek Help

  • Worsening or Spreading Rash: If your rash becomes more painful, larger, or doesn’t improve, stop using Mounjaro or Wegovy and contact your GP, NHS 111, or visit A&E for further evaluation.
  • Severe Pain or Discomfort: If the pain is unbearable or accompanied by other concerning symptoms (e.g., fever or difficulty breathing), seek immediate medical attention.
  • Notify Us: Please also inform our Lotus Weight Loss clinical team through your patient account if you experience any significant injection site reactions.

At Lotus Weight Loss, we’re here to support you through every stage of your weight loss journey. If you have any concerns about injection site reactions—or any other side effects—don’t hesitate to reach out to our team or your NHS GP.

Pancreatitis is an uncommon but serious side effect sometimes linked to GLP-1 medications such as Mounjaro and Wegovy. Although actual cases are rare, it’s important to know the symptoms and seek immediate medical attention if you suspect pancreatitis. Clinical studies for Wegovy and Mounjaro have not shown a link with pancreatic cancer, but vigilance is key to safeguarding your health.

Recognising the Signs of Pancreatitis

  • Severe abdominal pain: Often radiates to the back and may be accompanied by a burning or throbbing sensation.
  • Nausea or vomiting: These symptoms often appear alongside the abdominal pain.
  • Feeling very unwell: Pancreatitis can lead to significant discomfort and a general feeling of being unwell.

What to Do If You Suspect Pancreatitis

  • Seek immediate help: If you experience severe, persistent abdominal pain (with or without nausea or vomiting), call NHS 111 for advice or go to A&E.
  • Contact your healthcare provider: Stop using Mounjaro or Wegovy and inform your NHS GP or our Lotus Weight Loss clinical team if pancreatitis is diagnosed or strongly suspected.

Prevention & Monitoring

  • Stay informed: Keep track of any new or worsening side effects during your weight loss journey.
  • Report concerns early: Promptly communicate any worrying symptoms to your GP or our clinical team so you can receive appropriate care.
  • No proven link to pancreatic cancer: Current research indicates no association between GLP-1 medications and pancreatic cancer.

At Lotus Weight Loss, we’re dedicated to your health and safety. If you experience any severe symptoms or suspect pancreatitis, please seek medical attention immediately. For additional questions or concerns, reach out to our clinical team or your NHS GP. We’re here to support you at every stage of your weight loss journey.

Gallstones are relatively common in the general population, and many people may not even know they have them. However, while taking GLP-1 medications such as Mounjaro or Wegovy, there is a chance that gallstones or gallbladder inflammation (cholecystitis) can occur—especially if weight loss is rapid (around 1.5 kg or more per week). Although this is uncommon, it’s important to be aware of the signs and seek prompt medical attention if necessary.

Recognising the Signs

  • Right-sided abdominal pain: Pain under your ribs on the right side may indicate gallstones or inflammation.
  • Severe or persistent pain: Could be accompanied by vomiting, fever, or blood in your urine.
  • Feeling very unwell: Cholecystitis often causes significant discomfort and can rapidly worsen.

What to Do If You Suspect Gallbladder Issues

  • Seek immediate help: If you develop intense pain, especially under your right ribs, contact NHS 111 or go to A&E.
  • Stop and consult: If you experience severe pain, vomiting, or a high temperature, stop using your medication and seek medical advice right away.

Prevention & Monitoring

  • Avoid rapid weight loss: Eating small, balanced meals throughout the day can help prevent gallstone formation.
  • Stay hydrated: Proper fluid intake keeps bile more diluted and may lower the risk of gallstones.
  • Check in regularly: Keep track of any new or worsening symptoms, and inform your NHS GP or our Lotus Weight Loss clinical team promptly.

If you suspect gallbladder issues or have any concerns about gallstones while on Mounjaro or Wegovy, please seek medical attention immediately.

For further questions or to discuss any side effects, get in touch with our clinical team or consult your NHS GP. We’re here to support you at every step of your weight loss journey.

Anaphylaxis (sometimes referred to as angioedema when swelling is prominent) is a rare but severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. While uncommon, it’s important to know the signs and take immediate action if you suspect anaphylaxis.

Recognising the Signs

  • Difficulty Breathing or Shortness of Breath
  • Swelling of the Face, Lips, Tongue, or Throat
  • Difficulty Swallowing
  • Severe Dizziness or Feeling Faint

What to Do If You Suspect Anaphylaxis

  • Seek Emergency Care Immediately: Call 999 or go straight to A&E.
  • Stop Using Your Medication: Discontinue Mounjaro or Wegovy and inform the medical team about your treatment.
  • Bring Your Medication Packet: Show your healthcare provider the medication you’ve been taking.

Prevention & Monitoring

  • Stay Alert: Pay attention to any new or worsening symptoms soon after starting or increasing your dose of GLP-1 medication.
  • Contact Our Clinical Team: If you have any concerns or a history of severe allergies, discuss this with your NHS GP or the Lotus Weight Loss team before starting treatment.

Anaphylaxis is a serious, life-threatening emergency. If you experience any of the above symptoms, call 999 immediately. For ongoing concerns or questions, please reach out to our clinical team at Lotus Weight Loss or consult your NHS GP. Your safety is our top priority.

General Information

Once you reach a healthy weight, it’s important to focus on maintaining your progress and ensuring long-term success. Our weight loss treatments, including Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Orlistat, can be safely continued until your BMI reaches 23.5, which is considered a healthy and sustainable level.

Next Steps After Reaching a Healthy Weight:

  1. Gradual Transition Off Medication:
    • Our clinical team will assess whether it’s appropriate to gradually reduce or stop your medication. This helps prevent weight regain and supports a smooth transition to maintaining your results.
  2. Lifestyle Maintenance:
    • Continuing with a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and healthy lifestyle habits is key to sustaining your weight loss without medication.
  3. Ongoing Support:
    • Even after stopping treatment, we encourage regular check-ins with your GP or a healthcare professional to monitor your weight and overall well-being.

No, weight loss treatments such as Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Orlistat are not suitable if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive.

If you become pregnant while using these treatments, you should stop taking them immediately and consult your GP or healthcare provider for further advice.

There is evidence that Mounjaro and Wegovy may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives after starting treatment or increasing your dose. Our recommendation is to use additional contraception during treatment such as a barrier method (e.g. condoms) or consider contacting your GP to discuss more effective forms of contraception such as coils, implants and injections. For Orlistat, it is possible that medications that induce diarrhoea and/or vomiting (e.g. orlistat) could reduce the effectiveness of the oral contraceptive pill or the morning after pill- therefore we would recommend additional contraception during treatment.

Yes, it is possible to switch between Wegovy (semaglutide) and Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and vice versa; however, this should only be done under medical supervision- you would need to start at the lowest starting dose of the new medication and after a gap of at least 1 week between injections. Each medication works differently, and switching requires careful assessment to ensure safety and effectiveness based on your individual health needs and weight loss goals.

If you’re considering switching, our clinical team can review your progress and determine the most appropriate treatment for you. Simply complete our online consultation or contact us via our Contact Us page for further guidance.

At Lotus Weight Loss Clinic, we value your feedback and are committed to resolving any concerns you may have. If you wish to make a complaint, please contact us via email at support@lotusweightloss.co.uk, and our team will investigate the issue promptly.
